There’s an old saying that says, “The barista is always right”. That’s a saying I live by. Your barista should always know what is tasting best or what the most popular drink is of the moment. When I walk into a coffee shop, I always order an espresso and a drink of the barista’s choice. For this reason, I have made a list of my top 5 favorite drinks right now. It’s an ever-changing list depending on what beans we have and the current temperature. Since the recent heat wave, I have included some awesome iced drinks which you may have forgotten about. Enjoy!
5. Smoked Sea Salt Mocha
Easily our most popular drink, the smoked sea salt mocha was invented long ago by a former barista named Andrea. She combined a regular mocha (espresso, steamed milk, and our single origin chocolate from Ghana) with a smoked sea salt and the rest is history. The sweet and salty combo may sound weird, but give it a try! I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
4. Ginger Plum Iced Tea
Spring is here and it brought our ginger plum iced tea with it! This herbal iced tea (that’s right, caffeine free) is perfect after a long ride. It’s sweet, not sugary, and terribly refreshing. If you do not enjoy sweet beverages than we also offer a classic, unsweetened black iced tea which tastes excellent alone or when mixed with the ginger plum tea.
3. Kenya Gatuyaini
Whether it’s brewed with a v60 or chemex, the Kenya Gatuyaini from Ruby Coffee Roasters is a fruity, clean coffee that never gets old. We will only have this bean for a limited time, so try it soon before it’s too late!
What’s an Angeleno? Well, let me tell you. An Angeleno is milk, agave syrup, and TWO double shots shaken to perfection then poured over ice. Need I say more?
Call me boring, but it’s always the right time for a cortado. Coming in at only four ounces total, the cortado is simply half espresso and half steamed milk. Nothing more is needed!
