Parker, Rob, and I headed out to scout the course for our annual fat bike race yesterday. While cars were shooting across the highway in front of us we shot off the main thoroughfare and took back streets and bike routes to get to Woodbury, Minnesota’s Carver Lake Park. Upon our arrival the snow kept fluttering down. Airy and light, the tiny crystals covered the ground adding up to 3″ of blanket powder.
With about 2 weeks until the big race we are looking at having the best trail conditions of the race’s 4 year history. The trails are in stellar shape and nothing in the extending forecast is looking like it will change that. Reed, from the city of Woodbury and MORC has been working with other talented individuals of the Carver Lake Park Trail Crew to maintain and groom this awesome system of fat bike trails. If you haven’t been over there you should! You can pre-ride the course and help keep things packed down.
With the fat bike craze thriving in the greater Minneapolis Minnesota region it is looking like we will sell out the race with pre registration this year. As of this post there were only a handful of spaces left. We are capping the race at 125 people this year. You can sign up HERE if there’s space left.
